“From the Beginning”
// October 9th, 2009 // Lyrics and Details
This song was co-written (along with tb) by KinDeezil and DJ Goldenstate, and released on the Eternal Life Music album. It’s sort of a summary of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, starting from … well … the beginning. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God…. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” John 1:1, 14. Here we attempt to explain what it’s all about. But of course, if you really want to know what’s ALL about, you have to go the source – the Word of God.
Lyrics:
Intro:
Hey. If you didn’t figure out what this is all about yet, I’m gonna tell you how it went down from the beginning. I wanna tell you how it happened from the beginning (from the beginning). Yeah, check this out:
Verse 1:
In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God-
and at the same time , the Word was God -
Read John chapter 1 verse 1, the Word was God’s Son -
But I’m getting out ahead of myself … hold up (4)
Without the Word of God, nothing that was made was made -
He made man so His charachter could be displayed -
And the Word was made flesh, came and dwelt with us -
Again, I’m getting out ahead of myself … hold up (8)
Ok, love without choice isn’t love at all -
So God put him in a garden, and made one law -
He said go ‘head and have fun, but don’t eat this fruit -
He should’ve known everything God speaks is truth (12)
He said you eat this fruit, you’ll surely die -
The devil said it’s not true. You’ll be like God -
And they swallowed it! We weren’t equipped to deal with death -
But seperated from the source of life, then what’s left (16)
Hook 1:
From the garden to the grave, men couldn’t behave -
Disobeyed the Word of God and became a slave -
Who would come into this world and redeem us back? -
Who would contemplate a love like that? Check the facts (4)
Verse 2:
This is the beauty (yes), God anticipated it all -
Had a plan for man’s sin way before his fall -
And we see it back in Genesis 3:15 -
Satan’s Nemesis: A woman would produce a seed (4)
Biologically impossible so what did He mean? -
Everybody knows a woman can’t produce a “seed” -
That’s a man’s job. Prophetic of the virgin birth -
From the fall of man forward, the earth was cursed (8)
And mankind had a problem. We call that sin -
Needing God, but it seperated us from Him -
How ’bout eternal seperation? [Nope, don't want that] -
Job said we need a daysman to bridge that gap (12)
[What's a daysman?] My man, peep the context clue -
Somebody who can mediate between God and you -
Who can touch God and man simultaneously -
Like the God-man Messiah that they waited to see (16)
Hook 2:
From the garden to the grave, men couldn’t behave -
Disobeyed the Word of God and became a slave -
God would give His own Son to redeem us back -
The Son demonstrated love like that. And it’s a fact (4)
Verse 3:
Couldn’t forget this (no): the problem not just seperation -
God is so just that sin requires payment -
You can’t remit sin without innocent blood -
So guess what? (What?). All of mankind is stuck (4)
But you probably heard the principle that God is love -
So the Word became flesh and He died for us -
While all the spirit world wondering, why for us -
We seen His heart when the God-man cried for us (8)
[Bring it home T]. God created us for Him -
Made a way to be saved from the wage of sin -
Reconciled for relationship so in the end -
Only way to get to Heaven is to go throuh Him (12)
Does He know you? Did you invite Him into your heart?
Are you sure that you’re good with God? Well you can start -
Right here, right now. Friend, why delay?
Give your life back to God today. Jesus Christ is the only way (yeah) (16)
Jesus Christ is the only way. (Yeah).
Hook 3/Outro:
From the garden to the grave men couldn’t behave -
Disobeyed the Word of God and became a slave -
Christ would give His own life to redeem us back -
Why would you pass on a love like that? Run it back (4)
In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God -
And at the same time, the Word was God -
Read Genesis 3:15. The Word was God’s seed -
He was burried and arose for me. Now I’m free (8)
