The Centrality of the Gospel

Sex is a powerful thing.  Created by God and designed for marriage, sex in this proper context is holy and glorious as “they two shall become one flesh.”  Outside of its proper context, however, sex becomes what the bible calls “sexual immorality,” a destructive force with the potential to destroy lives, homes, businesses and even churches.  And yet, as destructive as it is, it’s also amazingly deceptive, alluring, inviting and everywhere.  With the enemy’s help, so many are killing themselves and they don’t even know it.  Shawn Sanderson is not afraid to talk and be real about it.

This message is for mature audiences.  It’s a message all of us can use from teenagers on up, but IT’S NOT APPROPRIATE FOR YOUNGER CHILDREN.  Be challenged.  Be encouraged.  Be blessed.

On Resurrection Sunday, 2010, Johnny Bell (Asst. Pastor – Antioch of Calvary Chapel) shared his personal resurrection story, discussed the simplicity of salvation, and taught on what it really means to be saved and to walk in newness of life.  We praise the God of our salvation for His resurrection power at work in our lives today.

This is another one of those messages every Christian should hear.  Pastor Aaron of Antioch of Calvary Chapel (Philly, PA) explains that our God is the God of the process.  In Genesis 1:10 we read, “God called the dry land Earth, and the waters that were gathered together he called Seas. And God saw that it was good.”  The world had yet to be any thing close to the awesome creation it was destined to be.  All there was was land and water.  Yet God looked at it and said this is “good.”  As Christians, we can tend to focus on what we’re not, forgetting to rejoice in the present in what God has already done in us.  Having turned to Christ, we can all say “I aint what I’m gonna be … but praise God, I aint what I used to be.”  God looks at what He’s already done in us and calls it “good.”  We should agree with Him and trust Him with our future growth.  “The LORD will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O LORD, endures forever; Do not forsake the works of Your hands.”  Psalm 138:8.  That is the theme of this awesome sermon.

Paul James, Sr. Pastor of  Careview Community Church (Lansdowne, PA) expands on Hebrews 6:9, being “confident that you are meant for better things.”  This message encourages us to look forward to Christ completing the work that He started in us.  God places circumstances, people and various testings in our lives to make us better.  In this message, Pastor James helps us to view these things and God’s process in us from the right perspective.

Originally delivered as a meditation prior to a Careview prayer meeting on learning to love well, love appropriately and love properly, this awesome message by brother Kevin Outterbridge centers on Philipians 1:9-12, and  Acts 2:42 and following.  Love is a choice.  This message encourages us to commit to choosing to love as a matter of obedience, not as a matter of emotion.

Many people say that they love God.  Perhaps you say the same thing.  Assuming you do, the question is: does God agree with you?   Jesus said of the Pharisees and the scribes: “This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me; in vain do they worship me….”   Matthew 15:8-9.  When we say we love Him, God knows whether or not our statement is truly sincere.  How does God evaluate our “love” for Him?  What things does He look at?   We pray that armed with this information directly from the Word of God, you can ensure that in the eyes of the Lord your love is sincere, and not regarded by Him as just lip-service.

Life presents all kinds of trials and tribulations.  The Lord wants us to be deeply rooted in Him so that we can face these trials and not be moved. Acts 20:17-38 gives us an awesome example of that in the Apostle Paul.  Facing bonds, afflictions and possible death, he would say, “none of these things move me” because he was a man who trusted the Lord, a man deeply rooted in Christ.  This message walks verse-by-verse through Acts 20:17-38 and the Parable of the Sower in Matthew 13 to explore “what it looks like to be rooted in Christ.”
